Andark Gain Planning Permission for Diver Training Lake
After a 3 year battle - several planning applications and an appeal - Andy & Stephanie Goddard have obtained planning permission last week for a Natural Diver Training Lake to be built on the land to the rear of Andark's present buildings and car park - alittle further up Oslands Lane.
Andy's comments last week after rushing from setting-up the Soutahmpton Boat Show Stand to get to the Planning meeting to speak. 'I can't really believe we have got it yet - what seemed like a simple idea 4 years ago to build a lake at Andark after we lost the use of Horsea Island - turn into a rather long process'
Over the 4 years Andark has received excellent support from Fareham planning officers and Andy Goddard said ' we hope to create something borough are proud of.'
The facility is going to be approximately 70 meters x 45 meters and a depth of 7meters. Along side the lake will be a single storey building which will incorporate changing rooms, booking office, office equipment room and wet classroom. This building will be buried on three sides with a grass covered roof.
