Wave 105 Presenter to Make Underwater History by setting a Guinness World Record with Andark.

Wave 105's World Record Attempt

Wave 105 presenter, Simon Clarke is set to make waves as he attempts to break a Guinness World Record for the world’s longest broadcast from an underwater remote studio on Tuesday 15thNovember from 11am – 4pm.

Brave could be the word used to describe Simon, especially as he couldn’t even swim let alone scuba dive, owing to a fear of water, until May this year. Since learning to swim, the lunchtime presenter succeeded at taking the challenge of an underwater helicopter escape trainer here at Andark Diving and Watersports. He has now decided to go one step further and is attempting to set a new Guinness World Record by recording his show live from an underwater studio, also at Andark Diving and Watersports. The five hour live broadcast will feature guest interviews, a poolside contributor who will read messages from email, Facebook and Twitter.

Simon Clarke says:  "I still can't quite believe I'm doing this, given that until earlier this year I couldn't swim". But I have really enjoyed conquering my fear of water and can't wait to tackle this next challenge for,  it would be wonderful to be able to seal my achievement by setting an official Guinness World Record along the way".

Spokesman, Andy Goddard from the Andark Diving and Watersports says; "the underwater studio (made by Banks Sails) has been especially designed for a challenge like this in mind. It was designed more than a year ago and testing has been an on-going process. I was very impressed with Simon’s ability to overcome his fear of water and learn to swim and to be able to do our Helicopter Underwater Escape Trainer (HUET) and that’s why it seemed the perfect opportunity to go for a new world record for the longest broadcast from anunderwater studio!"
