Mid layer should be part of a Sailors 3-layer system, being the layer that holds dry warm air close to the body, the other layers are:- Musto has several versions of Mid-Layer to provide warmth in most conditions. For the active dinghy Sailor - something like the Musto Polartec Smock And Trousers are both flexible and warm. The Ocean Racer - should use the Musto Goretex Mid-Layer or the Musto Shelled Mid-Layer
Base layer - to transport body moisture away from skin i.e Musto - Thermal Turtle Neck & Trousers, or Henri-Lloyd Core Range.
Outer Layer - should keep out water i.e. Musto MPX Offshore Goretex Jacket & Trousers or Gill OS2 range
