DIVING EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONDER (DEMR) COURSE

Course information

The purpose of the EFR Approved Diving Emergency Medical Responder (DEMR) Specialty Course is to provide the knowledge and skills that are necessary for an emergency to help reduce pain, sustain life and minimize the consequences of an injury or sudden illness.

“THE NEXT LEVEL OF ADVANCED TRAINING”

The course is to teach students to be prepared, confident and armed with the knowledge to take control and deal with virtually any non-diving and Diving based medical or traumatic emergency. This is the next level up from First Aid training.

This course sits between First Aid and EMT level so perfect for all learning levels. We are almost sure that you will learn something new and apply what you have learnt to all your medical assessments and treatment. So who is the course aimed at, Dive Leaders, Surface support, Professional Divers, Divemaster, Scientific divers, Fire and Rescue teams, Police rescue teams, Recreational divers, Rescue teams, Lifeguards, Coast Guard, Liveaboards, Dive Centres, Dive Resorts and whoever wants to broaden their medical knowledge?

The course will consist of two sections, the first section will be online theory, and the second section will be a minimum of two days practical.
The online section should take approximately 25 hours to complete and will be a combination of slides, voice-overs, videos, quizzes, case studies and pdf files.
There will not be a manual online; however, you can purchase the Emergency Medical Response handbook to assist you through your online section if you need a textbook to use as a guide. Purchasing the manual is an option, not a requirement as the handbook cost is around $135.00 almost the same price as the online section. The online part will have an abundance of information for your reference.
The online section will be live on the 1st August 2019, and the link will be on www.thedivermedic.com website to take you straight to the payment section of the course.
The cost of the online section will be $150.00, that you will pay separately from your Practical part and will be compulsory for everyone, including Instructors, to complete.
The practical section is a minimum of two days (16 hours) The Practical section will cost anything £250 to complete, and this is paid directly to us.

Student Pre-Requisites are the following:

By the start of the course, a student must be:
1. Certified as an EFR Primary and Secondary Care Provider PADI Rescue Diver, or equivalent certification or have a qualifying certification from another training organization. An Emergency Responder qualifying certification is defined as proof of current CPR and first aid training. Ongoing training means training within the previous 24 months. The Instructor will verify documents.
2. Be at least 18 years.
